National Paperclip Day: Universal Paperclips

May 29th is National Paperclip Day, and in honor of the day I felt it only right to share this little gem of a game that you can play anywhere... for free! Move aside, Cookie Clicker... and make way for Universal Paperclips!

If you've played any sort of clicker game, you're already familiar with the mechanics of how Universal Paperclips works. To get started building your own paperclip empire, click the URL image below to play in your browser. There are links from that page to get mobile versions!

Once there, and once you get your empire started, you can return to it any time you like (provided your browser doesn't auto-delete cookies or something). If you want a better idea of what it's like, you can follow the steps I took below. I ran the browser game while doing other things, starting it around 9 am and closing it around 4 pm one day last week.

Step 1: Starting With Nothing | Step 2: Autoclippers | Step 3: 5 Minutes of Fame (Not)

Step 6: Computational Resources | Step 7: Processor Added

Step 8: Limerick | Step 9: Projects

Step 10: 10k | Step 11: Trust Boost

Step 12: 110k | Step 13: Quantum

And that's where I stopped for the day. But the journey doesn't end there, as Rome wasn't built in a day. This is an EMPIRE, after all!

The more you work at this, the bigger it gets. If you give the mobile version(s) a try, let me know! And hey, next time you're bored and want to pretend you're an amazing start-up genius CEO... you now have a great game option to turn to!
