In this weekly feature, I share game titles from my various gaming wishlists. I share screenshots and video from the developer, talk about my expectations, and generally just ramble about why the title made it onto my list in the first place. This week's choice is The Magister by Nerdook Productions.
THE STATS

Who doesn't enjoy a randomized who-done-it? Add in tactical encounters via
cards and the ability to negotiate peacefully, all while roaming a fantasy
landscape. Bonus: You can recruit a human ally... or better yet, a local cat
or dog. (As if there's really a choice here?)
This game blends together several different genres that normally don't go
together, but I'm excited about that. It really forces you to be smart about
how you play: which cards do you put in play? where do you wander for clues?
who do you recruit to help you? should you fight or play nice? With randomized
events, clues, motives and murderer each time, your choices matter
more than ever!
It will be nice to find out how much replayability there is, or if it becomes
too predictable for lack of rotating options.
