The 24-hour Extra Life marathon is in 3 weeks, and this is a weekly entry counting down to the event. Here's an update to get you excited!
A LOTRO Yule Story Returns
Since the last update, I passed the $2250 Milestone. The community reward for that is a revisit of a past blog feature in which I wrote a narrative piece about my hobbit, Aumai Goodness, experiencing the Yule Festival in Lord of the Rings Online. It was a big hit with readers, so I decided I would send a new character into the fray of holiday chaos in Frostbluff -- and let my patrons decide! My patrons being a relatively quiet bunch, I will give them another week or so to vote and then open up the poll to the public.
Hot Shot: Spicy Food Challenge
Because I'm really dumb, and because I shot waaaaaaaay past my original fundraising goal for the year, I offered to do another spicy food challenge as the $2500 Milestone this year. Thanks to some donations yesterday, I'm sitting exactly at that amount. As a result, there is now a very public poll available to everyone until Nov 7th (Marathon Day) to determine which spicy food I will have to endure. The poll page has a link to the video of me struggling with the World's Hottest Chocolate Bar for Extra Life 2018.
Thorin and Company, Part 2
A mere $100 away is an exclusive Milestone reward just for the members of the Away Shall Fade kinship! Should we reach this goal of $2600, all full members (sorry, new recruits) will be able to claim a digital copy of any one of the dragon drawings from the $1300 milestone.
It's A Secret...
As the name implies, this one's a big secret! However, 3 random donors will get chosen for this... and you'll just have to find out after the fact what this secret something is!
I Love You 3000
This is the big one! This is the new fundraising goal for 2020, and it's just a mere $500 away! The rewards for this one are in 3 parts:
- All donors will receive a digital copy of a special "Oakenshield" collage of the 13 dragon drawings from the Thorin and Company $1300 Milestone.
- One lucky LOTRO donor will get to choose something special for the 2021 milestones and win some VIP time (or equivalent LOTRO-related gift). (This is separate from the ASF pre-marathon giveaway of VIP time.)
- An additional digital copy of a special dragon drawing made just for the Away Shall Fade kinship will be made available to all full members!
Team Standing Stone Games
The SSG team made their goal of $20,000 this week! Per Friday's Cord of the Rings stream, their goal may or may not get bumped up. Cord mentioned that all of the groups under the Daybreak umbrella will be doing something on Marathon Day, and there should be some pre-Marathon hype. I'm looking forward to seeing what else they do!
