MY FAVORITE TRACKS

(The full list of tracks are linked by playlist below... and I highly recommend some good headphones to best enjoy all of the subtle elements of the music!)

(Length: 4:35) (Ilan Eshkeri) The suspenseful beginning opens up nicely to what sounds like a determined approach of a warrior towards his foe -- a reckoning to be had! The strings and flute balance the percussion perfectly.

(Length: 3:12) (Ilan Eshkeri) The percussion in this is phenomenal! It reminds me both of frantic heart beats and a ticking clock. It pushes the melody the whole way through.

(Length: 2:34) (Ilan Eshkeri) Dramatic and balanced!

(Length: 3:32) (Ilan Eshkeri) The vocals in this are haunting and stunning. You simply have to listen to it!

(Length: 9:40) (Shigeru Umebayashi) The suite pieces are all about setting tone and atmosphere, and this one does it best. There are subtle elements perfectly timed to paint the picture of this track, and it is listening pleasure the whole way through. It's clear to see that the composer (Shigeru) is very comfortable composing for dramatic films!

WHY DO I RECOMMEND IT?

Add this into your rotation of epic, cinematic soundtracks -- especially if you run an Asian-inspired tabletop game of some kind and want background music. This will easily set the mood and not disappoint in the slightest. The compositions are SOLID and BEAUTIFUL. An added bonus is playing the game and further appreciating the role of the music. (The game, also, is SOLID and BEAUTIFUL.)

THE COMPOSERS: ILAN ESHKERI & SHIGERU UMEBAYASHI

From what I can tell of the credits, Shigeru composed the Suite tracks while Ilan composed the rest -- and they did the production work for each other. This makes sense if you look at their other works. Shigeru does a LOT of film composition, while Ilan has a slightly broader scope with television works and the compositional work of The Sims 4.
