Freebie Friday: Shepherd of Light

On Freebie Fridays you can find a free game to check out courtesy of Gamer Reverie. The genres and quality will vary, so be sure to check each time to see what I've dug up for you!

This won't be a series with a ton of pictures and explanations. Just a glance at the stats, a quick description of the game and its genre, and why I thought it was worth sharing (aside from being free).

THE STATS

Name: Shepherd of Light
Developer: Bad Seahorse
Publisher: John Paul the Great Catholic University
Release Date: September 4, 2019

Genres: Free to play, puzzle, indie
Available: Steam

Welcome to Themis
Explore the moon of Themis, where the spirit beings who reside there depend on the light of their sheep to survive. From cozy farms, to ancient ruins, experience a new world as you solve puzzles along the way.

The Shepherd
the son of a wise and respected elder
Left in charge of his father's herd, he now has to guide his sheep back to the safety of the farm.

The Sheep
made of pure energy, they are vital to the shepherd's survival
Throughout the game, encounter different kinds of sheep with unique energies and abilities. Put their powers to the correct use, and they will aid in your journey.

The Wolves
akin to a black hole, they are a serious threat to the sheep
Eternally hungry, they are shadow creatures that absorb the light from the sheep. They scatter the sheep and block your path.

It's a simple premise, but sometimes simple is best when it comes to games. We just want something to occupy our time! In this case, the game has Overwhelmingly Positive reviews on Steam. Instead of just a shepherd having to protect their sheep from wolves, the game introduces different sheep with different powers and environment puzzles that require the use of those powers. It's a pretty game and easy mechanics to learn -- and free! (And another student-made game!)
